    Hi all

My wife has been expierencing pain in both arms and after sleeping both arms get numb. We have healthcare insurance so she has been to doctor and was sent for a MRI. Basically she was told that she had carpo tunnel syndrome and the private hospital she attended wanted to operate and this was covered by the insurance.

She needs to type a lot in work and if she had the operation she would need 6 months to recover.

I felt that thay were too quick to suggest surgery and didnt explain the procedure at all. Maybe they were more interest in sales rather than patient health. After some internet searching i discovered that this operation does not have a very high sucess rate.

I suggested she use wrist which helped a little although she cant wear them at work because she is not in permanent employment.
The pain is getting so bad that she is considering leaving her job that she loves.

Can anyone suggest other possible causes and how symptoms could be treated?

My last post was closed as i ask for reccomendation on another doctor/clinic....fair enough.
I just cant afford to try many places that are not covered by my insurance.

and this one os going to be closed as we dont give medical advice here

she should speak to her gp. phone him/her and ask where else she could go and/or what else she could do.

we cant give any advice other than that here.
