Delta ex DUB will be a 767 but you will be connecting in U.S onto a diff aircraft http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Delta_Airlines/information.php

Try this site and should help;)

    Hey,
I flew 1st class with them from Dublin to JFK, got a free upgrade due to flight being overbooked. I used to fly Aer Lingus but found their cabin crew to be very unhelpful so I decided to change to an American airline and I have never been so happy with a decision. Delta cabin crew have always been helpful to me and nothing is ever a problem. be that in 1st class or economy. I'm booked to fly with them again in December and that will be my 7th flight with Delta.

Thanks, how did you find it? Does the seat turn into lay flat? What is the lay out? Is the food and drink nice?

Nah, I'd rather hear from people who have actually flown with them. And get their experiences.

Look on airliners.net trip reports they will have loads of reports of people flying with delta in business class or whatever, most of the time the people put in pictures and have like a log of things they did and how the flight went.

    You are flying in November?

Why would someone else's experience influence you.

Are you the the same kind of people?

Ring the frikken airline up and find out what the service is and equipment used is.

    Basic stuff buddy.C'mon.

Surely that's the obvious thing to do.?

Seats didn't lie flat, i think it was 3 rows across of 2 seats each x 6 rows (18 seats) Food was great, given a menu to choose from- steak, pasta, chicken... then snack men later with burgers and sandwiches, Overall an enjoyable experience-think the plane was a boeing 767-300ER easily found on www.seatguru.com

What route are you taking? As far as I am aware from Delta's winter schedule they are flying the B757-200 DUB to JFK and a B737-800 JFK to LAS.
    The B767-400 is summer only?

Ring Delta and confirm aircraft type!

There is DUB ATL which is a B767 with variant on series.

also flown with delta in 1st class to ATL a few times, I think they call it business elite.

pretty much what deeaunty said, staff are very good but seats could be more comfortable and don't lie flat. Food is excellent.

Thanks and I'm guessing it's free drink and all that. Is there a lounge in Atlanta, we have a bit of a long stop over.

yes free drink on the flight

I been to a lounge in Concourse E (international) but think they have them in each concourse. Complimentary drinks and finger food, internet etc. They have showers there too.

Just back from the states, flew with Delta in business elite. Yeh it's free drink/soft drinks and there is a lounge in ATL in concourse E as the guys have already said, its pretty cool in fairness. Good selection of movies and TV shows to watch, the music selection isn't the worst also.

Thanks lads cant wait now, its going to be the trip of a lifetime. Hopefully it doesnt get too messy on the plane :p

All drinks/alcohol is free!!!!! including all movies, i think there usually 12 movies on the flight none of which are released in Ireland yet

767D aircraft is the lie flat aircraft. JFK is the only one uses this aircraft . unless ATL air craft goes tech
    40 business class 7 crew 3 pilots

767C is the normal one 42 business class passengers 8 crew 3 pilots

from October on they are downsizing to a 757 until further notice LOL

the delta business lounge in ATL or JFK have free drink and food also internet/telephone pretty much everything, they will even check your bags for you there:::

Also not alot of people know you can pay 25dollars at any of these VIP lounges anywhere in the states or DUB and gain entry@ also another cool point when you do if your in coach class they can upgrade you to business free of charge;)

Do you just go up to the lounge pay?
How do you get them to upgrade you? would love to get upgraded for my next tpip as I'll have my mum with me and it will be her first transatlantic flight.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you go to delta.com you can enter your booking reference or ticket number. Then you can see a seatmap, compare it to SeatGuru, and choose your seats.

Im sorry but that is pretty piss poor advice! Firstly, lounge access. Some lounges you can pay into but some of the one world, star alliance lounges you cant. Having something like priority pass will allow you to avoid paying into lounges, but you do have a yearly fee.

Upgrades: Ah that old chestnut again. Just because you pay $30 into a lounge it does not mean that you will get an upgrade. If it was, all lounges would be full.

The pecking order, and Im open to correction for an upgrade would be frequent flyer status, amount of miles on account, the class of ticket for the flight. If you have a full economy fully flexible ticket then you MIGHT get an upgrade in special circumstances, but if you paid the low low cost, non flexible cheap as chips ticket, you pretty much get nothing!

So the whole 'its my mums first transatlantic trip' will get you zip! Count yourself lucky that you get the economy meal!

That would be a fairly fair reflection of what goes on.

Of course you will always get the blaggers and chancers who think that an airline is a charity organisation and think that those who PAY top dollar would be impressed if some gimp who got the lowest fare was plonked in beside them.

    Would you??

    Common sense lads.

    Calm down now.
