    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/news/a262362/shawn-ryan-reveals-terriers-details.html
Shawn Ryan has revealed details of his new FX comedy-drama Terriers.
The show stars Donal Logue as Hank Dolworth, a former cop who teams up with his best friend Britt Pollack (Michael Raymond-James) to form an unofficial private investigating business.
"The show is just a lot of fun I think and it’s a buddy show in many ways which I haven't done before," Ryan told Crave Online. "I get to investigate youthful indiscretions and guys who don't have a lot of responsibility in their lives."
The writer also compared the new series to his former cop drama The Shield, which aired on FX between 2002 and 2008.
"[On] The Shield, we always tried to make it feel like the case that week was of ultra-importance," he said. "These [new characters] are guys who live a life that doesn't seem all that important. It just seems like a lot of fun and then they get caught up in some important stuff."
Ryan is also working on new police drama Ride-Along for the Fox network.
"In Ride-Along you get to investigate a sort of Midwestern culture and ethos that I grew up in," he explained. "In both cases, both shows, they're just individual characters that I've never written before and that have different outlooks on life than characters from The Shield."
Terriers will premiere on September 8 on FX.

Its got Rene from True Blood and Donal Logue both watchable and it is from Shawn Ryan so I will check it out

Watched the 1st episode the other day. It's decent. Something about it doesn't make me warm to it though. Good enough to make me want to watch a little bit more anyway.

I just watched the 1st episode and have to say I really enjoyed it. I think they have certainly done enough and given enough story and character background to ensure a good level of interest in the main characters from the get go.

There were some very clever plot devices to move the background story of the characters and the plot along plus the events taking place throughout the episode. Definitely going onto my weekly telly shows to watch anyway. :)

i enjoyed the first episode so will stick with it

    Just watched the second episode

Not a must-see programme - when the full set of new shows have debuted, this one will (Please God let there be something better) slip down my list.

It's not bad, just not very good. A bit like Burn Notice, or White Collar.

Ep. 2 ratings....this show is DOA:

    Terriers (64 minutes)
    - 0.822 million viewers
    - 0.6/1 HH
    - 0.4/1 A18-49

I thought the second episode was an improvement on the first. Just as a previous poster said it's not unmissable and falls into a Burn Notice/White Collar category. Diverting stuff.

Last two eps were very good, the standard of acting in the show is excellent but I still don't see this going anywhere. Ratings are awful too.

this show is great, come on, it at times seems unlikely and coincidental but its also weaves around those tv structures, its much better then most stuff on tv at the mo.

Saw a Tweet from Shawn Ryan that Ratings picked up by almost 50% for this week's episode, but still probably not enough ... I really enjoy this show, it's my one 'must see' show of the week at the moment.

I really hope it gets a second season even though the finale wrapped up the storyline pretty well only is it jail or Mexico for Britt ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,140 ✭✭✭✭expectationlost

jail for britt of course, no question.

i wouldn't mind if there wasn't a second series the story is kinda rapped up, yet not.

it was kinda disappointing that some other guy was introduced and we didn't get to see what he was up to or would he delay his project

weird series though, the body count!

Big fan of Donal Logue - haven't seen any of this show yet so didn't want to read the thread too carefully in case of spoilers, but is it worth watching?

can i again request that the tv forum be used to discuss tv shows and that those who offer little then to turn it into trainspotting stay in the ratings thread http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=259312

 i AM discussing the show....i said it was axed + provided a link that's discussed the axing, which also refers to the ratings....which by association is the REASON it was axed, poor ratings.
