When do you think this will be offically announced and released?

What do you think we can expect from it?

It will be totally sentient and be able to control time.

He's right. I'm posting this via PS4 right now in 2016.

Except on the 29th of February.

Why did you travel back to 2016?

There were no good games out that year... everything was virtually identical to the last gen, just with shinier graphics. They didn't unlock the true power of the Pandora Core processor until 2021.

Oh and amacachi, the PS4 created the 29th of February in every year that didn't have one, it's that powerful! :pac:

    Hey GrayDitch,

Did 'PS Move' ever take off ?

Is playstation 'home' out of beta?

    Hey GrayDitch,

Did 'PS Move' ever take off ?

Quite literally, they added thrusters to the bottom of the sticks.

Kinect fell by the wayside after Chicken Flap Challenge IV failed to turn a profit. Peter Molyneux made himself a Virtual Girlfriend, but chose not to sell the rights to Microsoft on the grounds that we was "in love".

Minidiscs are back like they never left.

I think it will be announced in 2012 for a 2013 release then get put back to 2014 and we will get it around 2015.

I saw crysis 2 in 3D today, its the future ! Ive seen plenty of 3D recently most of it has some depth but still looks like 2D images forced to look 3D. But this was like looking out your window. IF you had aliens fighting guys in mechanical suits and smashing up New York out side your windows.

Never seen anything look as good.

The future is 3D without glasses. What's being shown by companies now is a mere stepping stone, albeit an expensive and poorly thought out one. :)

As for Crysis 2 in general, want. :)

Regarding the Playstation 4, I don't want to see it released until 2013 at the very earliest. By then developers should have gotten the hang of utilizing the Cell so that when the PS4 comes out, assuming they're using a more advanced version (read: somewhere between the current tech and the cancelled dual PPE and 32 SPU chip) of the Cell, developers will simply have to scale up their tech and hopefully have access to a more powerful graphics card to boot.

Ah ye guys are way in the past. Ye haven't got the PS5 yet??
It's amazing, Sony have developed this ingenious way that you can communicate with friends who are playing different games with your voice! Seriously!

The option to record/edit and upload gameplay would be a nice inclusion.
They could have a standard model and a dearer model with this included.

Hopefully still a couple of years away yet!

Just because the price of the ps3 was so large at the start!
You'll need to remortgage the house to buy the PS4.

given the ps1 and 2 had a life of 6 years, the next playstation will be out in 2012. Might be later outside japan

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,661 ✭✭✭✭Helix

this gen is a little different though, they'll get a few extra years. both are aiming for a 10 year life cycle, which generally includes 2 years of a new console so itll be mid to late 2013 before we see the ps4

ill put very, very good money on that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 355 ✭✭theShawzer

Ya I agree totally, we're only seeing devs getting to grips with the ps3 hardware lately so it's got plenty life left in it yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,084 ✭✭✭Grumpypants

After seeing how good Crysis 2 looks on a super hot PC in 3D and how bad it looks on a 360 we need new consoles. But my wallet says oh god no just leave it be for a few more years.

Problem is if you look at PC's a top end PC will be average in 7-10 months compared to the top end one then. If they are working on a console for 2 or 3 years it will be way behind by the time its released.

Right, but it won't be backwards compatible with time. You will only be able to travel into the future.

Blu-ray disc specificity the BDXL format supports 100GB and 128GB write-once disc even now, space won't be a problem and there are people with PS3s with upgrade HDD that are running our of space constantly. Even if games were predominantly downloaded, i think a system like used by steam where the disc is just download burned to a disc would be the best step to begin with.

I wouldn't go suggesting that to anyone on dial-up ;) Not everyone in the world has broadband remember. It would be a shortfall to go digital only any time soon.

What part of that said digital only  , i said that disc space won't be a problem for physical media and gave two available version of Sony new favourite disc base format.

Valve pc games release in shops are the downloaded files burned to a disc and a similar option would not require large downloads and while not every one has a high speed internet connection one would not be required if only a authorization was required rather than a download of the game.

Ah I see, sorry I misread what you were saying. My apologies :) However, (there's always a however :D) not everyone has an internet connection.

The PS4 will be a few years off and who knows what will be out, maybe all of Ireland will be made of fibre and there will be high speeds for all.

That's numbering is probably one of the marketing teams at Sony's favourite thing about the Playstation, MS will have to spend a fortune to come up with a new xbox name while Sony adds a bigger number.

Very true, it's ingeniously simple :D But it's going to get a bit ridiculous from now on....the PS4 just sounds unimagineative/boring.
