Justin Bieber slowed down 800% - A guy put it up on Soundcloud yesterday and so far it's had over 300,000 listens.

Now I know how Eno got lots of his sounds.

It sounds great whatever it is

My stunning 3000% slower rework of Nelson from The Simpsons classic laughing retort - "Ha Ha". Out today on Paedo Bear Records. Get in touch for promo action.

It's nowhere near as pretty, but that's how I made a lot of this stuff:

This is prolly the prettiest one:

that PaulStretch prog is great fun. I've used it to stretch Australian bird calls and then use the results as pad sounds on stuff like this http://soundcloud.com/mixile/breakfast-in-paradise
(based on field recordings from South East Queensland)

You're not the first one. Someone has already tried speeding up Sigur Ros; it doesn't turn into Justin Bieber. But there was an ambient group who slowed the Bieber song down a few months back and were passing it off as their own creation (arguable - you really have do a little more with something than slow it down to claim it as your artistic creation)

The funny thing about this - is it sounds really good. Over half a million people have already listened to it and it's only been up since yesterday.

The whole thing is about 35 minutes long. It just has these weird surprising bits in there. The original track sounds like Donnie Osmond - The slowed down version sounds like a cosmic epic.

You can slow down any track and it will sound interesting. The Bieber track sounds like a complete piece. Possibly he is not from this planet. Possibly he is a cosmic being and the only true way to understand his music is to slow it down by 800%.

Sounds great. Been messing with the program for the past couple of hours...Sade (she sounded superb), QOTSA, Gary Numan, Chet Atkins...whatever I had on a USB stick. It really highlights stuff that isn't dynamic (like my own recordings or bootlegs) compared to well produced studio sounds.

Lovely piece of Open Source software that is < 2Mb.

Yeah you can really notice how much work someone has put in on getting stereo on a splash cymbal to cross the stereo field.

I think something else - if the notes aren't absolutely on the button it sounds more interesting slowed down.
