    Hi guys.

I've recently upgraded to 15 MB broadband from UPC so when I got my shiny new iPhone 4 I was expecting lightning fast browsing and buffer free YouTube viewing. Unfortunately this is not the case.

The new router which UPC provide is a cisco model. Initially I had big problems setting up Xbox live with my new network and finally realized it was a problem with opening some ports (or port forwarding) for this specific router. I'm wondering now is this port issue the same reason I'm having sloooow safari and youtube loading on my iPhone 4.

If anyone has had a similar problem I'd really appreciate some insight because I feel like I'm browsing with an iPhone 2g.

    Thanks :)

Try changing the wireless broadcast mode to 802.11g only.

How do I do this??. Is this not dependent on the type of router you have???.

How quick is your 3G download speed at 5 bars? This should determine whether its the phone or the broadband.

Im having similiar issues but this time its to do with eircom, our eircom router died as it was years old and we received a new one yesterday, now using the wifi on the iphone is extremely slow and often times out, I dont think the problem is to do with the router as the speeds are fast when I use the same wifi on my ipod testing both the phone and ipod to load the same pages, the old router used WEP security and the new 1 I believe uses WPA if that makes any difference? Iv read up about changing the DNS on the iphone settings but didnt really make a difference

    any suggestions? :)
