How old is this CIE rail map?

    I saw this as a prop in a pub in Tralee recently was trying to figure out the age of it according to the lines that were operating including the "former" WRC and the Naom Eanna. :)

    If you are sharp enough you could see the Dublin Suberban stations, Definitally post 1971 as Sydney Parade was reopened back then.

    Sounds about right,the Loughrea branch only closed in November 1975.

    The maps date from the introduction of the MkII 'Supertrains' in 1972. There were hundreds of these maps never saw the inside of a carriage at all and I remember that the Irish Traction Group used to sell them on their railtours. Where's the Loughrea branch today, but Attymon Junction soldiers on much as always. :D

    Interesting map - it would look pretty bare if ran as far as 2020 I suspect. :(

    In fairness, the map did grow a tiny bit between the last frame (1975) and 2010 - Midleton, Ennis-Athenry and soon Pace.
