    idiots.

could've made it hd1 with core card inside. FW interface. 1500euro and made a killing. extra 500 euro for each upgrade card (hd2, hd3) and i'd have been onboard smiling.

instead they continualy pander to the outdated and underpowered hd market.

also, when you make a big release like this and your stock only lifts by 30 cents you know you're in serious trouble!

Found that video very unimpressive, like watching an episode of the Hills. The fact that we didn't get to hear the difference it was just 'ah yeah man fuk this sounds so fuki..beep.. With our new omni IO we have an all in one box with dials so small you need binoculars this will change the way you mix yada yada my asshole.

im still not exactly sure how a fukin interface will change the way i mix

maybe it has magical powers and shouts profanities at me when i make a wrong decision?

I havn't studied the details of this yet but it all seems a bit boring. I cant see anyone ditching their 192 for the i/o. The Omni seems ok for a small system but as usual $3000 is not small money.

If the sound quality is a significant improvement then I think the pressure may be on studio owners to upgrade. Damn it...

Would have to be a no debate real sonic improvement.
Also wondering if Avid are going to run upgrade options for the current HD owners.
That said I'm happy with my system..

Would you really think its that much better than a 192 ? Of course if you mix ITB whats the point. I cant see anybody with existing HD interfaces changing, only new buyers.

Just moved up to 8.1 HD today. Don't like the new IO window at all. Maybe it might make more sense with these new interfaces in terms of moving sessions around but I don't see any real advantages to it at the moment anyway.

Agreed, a 192 takes a lot of lolly to beat.

We heard about this about a month ago -

No one seems particularly excited ... including the Digi (Avid!) representative !

The question is what more do you want your DAW/Hardware to do.

All software has bugs so take it as a given we all want these fixed. The second is price of course of which Avid gives least value for money on the LE side of things. So if you take the first 2 points as given what do you really want your DAW to do that it cant do now ? What would get you really excited ?
