apart from the registration/payment my main question is about the weight categories, will they be as per IBJJF guidelines or will you have your own limits?

Online entry, papal link etc now up and running! If anyone has any problems, let me know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,158 ✭✭✭Chris89

Clive as you have established papal links, will this competition be open exclusivity to members of the roman catholic church?

    Chris.

Lol, other denominations are free to attend, however they cannot receive medals.:D

Seriously though, entries are coming in already, I'll get a confirmed competitor list up once I have a few more. I should be at Barry's show on Sunday, if anyone wants to pay then, I'll bring my receipt book.

I love the way you're judging at that AND taking entries for the BJJ open. Multitasking... awesome.

I'm guessing there's no teen division?

Usually not as there is not enough interest. I dont know why though since Team Rhyno's last teens comp had a good enough turnout as far as I've heard. They might make a teens division on the day if theres enough interest...I'd be interested anyway.

Is there any rule about how crap you can't be to enter? I'm a NOOB white belt with very little training time but this sounds like a blast.

What are you on about, any self respecting member of the Irish BJJ/MMA community could get to St. Andrews with their eyes closed.
Rumour has it that even Mark Leonard can get there without using GPS.

Im sure he can Tim.....but the bjj open is on saturday and I will be needing directions to the silverhills hotel in cork for the sunday...hence the ' I will be getting directions' post aimed at Liam.Sometimes it pays to read the post properly before adding a comment.
Or maybe Im just not a respected member of the bjj/mma community.
