Does anybody ever take these enhanced prices or specials you see advertised almost on a weekly basis?
I try to steer clear, its almost as if the bookie knows something you dont, some of them seem "dead certs", for example last year i saw a special price in PP on a united barca double 11/8 or something like that in champs league. 100 quid on thinking easy money, united win barca loose, think it was away to a german side cant remember....

There's almost always a bogey one in there. At first glance they usually seem all like certs but the most basic research will show you that one of the teams might be away to a team with great home form, and might be missing a couple of players - that sort of thing. Worth keeping an eye on though - the odd time it can be worth a punt.

Note though that the enhanced price is very rarely more than half a point better than if you were to put them in an accum. So for example they'd have a special of four teams to win, at 11/2, whereas if you simply did them in an accum, you'd get 5/1.

Twice in the world cup I took two specials of this type. One was for Holland and Argentina to win all their group games at 14/1 (both had poor groups). The other was Robinho and Fabiano both to score against Chile at 5/1 I think it was (once I checked both were starting).

I took one today in PP - Steinbeck 6.30 Killarney (won @ 5-4) and Spurs to beat Young Boys (8-11 PP). The special double price was 9-2 so cmon you Spurs.

Ya and i wasnt planning on backing Spurs at all. Just the price seemed too good to be true and I was wrong. Good marketing by PP though. I hope Spurs get hammered now.
