we are flying to malaga with aer-lingus, i was hoping to bring our car seat with us as it is very expensive to hire them away. has anyone done this and does it cost extra to bring it? i tried to ring them but hung up after 40 mins waiting.

I am a frequent flyer and have often seen people checking in a baby seat, it is is tagged and then put into the hold underneath. Rather cumbersome thing to be dragging around though!

Yeah, they go in outsize luggage. A lot of people pay to get them shrink wrapped as well otherwise they could get a bit grubby going into the hold.
