1,000,001 World Record Attempt

Next Friday sees a darts team attempt an amazing world record; to finish a game of 1,000,001 (yes, a million points!) in the least darts possible. The attempt starts Friday 20th August at 1pm – and will continue into the weekend. Great luck to them – you can donate on their website, while you watch the attempt streamed live!! So why not tune in and watch the guys throw a few thousand arrows next weekend, and dip your hand in your pocket for charity!
A Guinness World Record attempt to finish a 1,000,001 game in the least number of darts by a team of 8. The record has been held since 1991 by Buzzy’s Pub & Grub Lynn Boston Massachusetts (36,583 darts) All money donated will go to the two charities nominated. Donations are via a simple Paypal button the their website.

The team: Mickey Mansell, Felix Mc Brearty, Daryl Gurney, Campbell Jackson, Ronan Mc Mahon, Eamonn Mc Govern, Mickey Taggart and Thomas Stoga.

All money donated will go to Alzheimher’s Society and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

thats a great idea, funny enough that american team finished with an average of 82. That NI team is well capable of beating it. Considering you spend so long throwing for scores. I reckon they'll do it in 35,300 or there abouts and beat the record by 1000 darts.

35600, I am assuming they keep going non-stop so wont maintain high scoring throughout.

surely if its overnight they'll get a break. they'll hardly keep going over night. be interesting to see though.

Gurney really is a class act, as is Jackson. back to back 180's there and they've put a full point back on the average along with McBrearty and Mansell which is hard done after 22000 darts have being averaged in before hand.

Fair play to them. When i did the calculations to see that the original record was an average of 82 i was a bit surprised though i'll admit.

Did they have to finish on a double? Imagine if it was one of those time you just couldn't hit it!:D
