    Ferg got into Round 3 in the Trials for the main event and will be surfing again today.

    his R3 heat is at 8.20am local time with Anthony Walsh (Aus) and two tahitian blokes. apparently the time difference is GMT - 10 hrs

    yeah very tough heat that fella david is a bit of a charger in the big stuff... but he is a natural footer, Ferg and walshy are goofys so should have the edge..

    Ferg didnt make it into the 4th round but I am sure it was a great experience for him. Well done Ferg.

    P.S got them to change the flag on the Federation webpage.

    that feed didnt work for me at all.

    yeah shame he couldnt go further but he did pretty well to advance to round 3 given the field. Intersting that two tahitian guys made it to the final so all 3 wilcards are locals (Manoa drollet got his from billabong direct)...

    they guy was taken from south point at gracetown which is about a click north of where another surfer was taken a good few years back at a break called lefthanders.
    RIP

    I noticed they corrected the flag - good work!
