FBD - 90e cheaper than Quinn. Any reason not to switch?

Hi there, Just a quick query. My insurance is up and I've been ringing around - An FBD quote came in with a nice saving over the quinn quote (I've been with Quinn for 4 yrs now). FBD offer third party driving of other cars and 24hr breakdown assist which Quinn offer also (I don't think there's any other extras I need). Is there anything I'm overlooking - I'm most likely going to switch to FBD given that saving. The other consideration is that I will be getting motorbike insurance shortly and got a good quote off Quinn - hopefully this car insur switch wont affect that.

The only thing it might affect about the bike insurance is if they are taking the existing policy into account and giving you a discount based on it. Other that, compare policies and if they match up then Id give Quinn the boot tbh! Then again, even if it was €90 the other way Id probably still be saying the same thing...

My impression is that FBD have a far better reputation than Quinn. Just make absolutely sure the cover you're being offered is the same or better before you commit.

maybe say to quinn that fbd have offered me this and see if they can beat it most insurance companies will try to come back with a lower cost so they dont lose the business! worth a shot!!
i reckon for the bike insurance you got a dioscount because you hav another poilcy with quinn so it may go up( prob not very much)
but letting quinn no is a good idea of a first step!

Its always worth a shot, but from what Ive read of Quinn this year they have uped their prices and are not prepared to bargain; even if you get a better quote from someone else.

bare in mind, quinn offer 10% off bike and car policies if you have an existing policy with them already. Might be worth the savings if this is your first bike policy and have no NCB.

When comparing policies, compare the excess windscreen & glass cover, etc.

I switched from Quinn to FBD yesterday. With all Quinn troubles they will not be competitive again for a while.

Quinn can sometimes have wildly uncompetitive quotes for specific bikes. It might be smart to get an idea of what kind of costs you'll be looking at by ringing them and telling them what model you're thinking about.

Personally, i had been with quinn for my car insurance but they were some 200 euro more expensive than AON for my honda cbr600rr insurance, and were completely unwilling to consider matching the price.
