Total n00b here, currently watch most media from an external hard-drive plugged into my DVD player, would love something networkable that I could drop any files onto and watch away...

Priorities would be codec based - want to be able to play anything I throw at it, onboard storage would be good but not 100% essential as I have a few USB drives, want something I can drop files on across a wifi network, no surround sound setup so as long as it can downgrade the audio from an mkv to work on the tv, that'd be fine.

Any suggestions? Don't have a fortune to spend but the recent ibood 1tb player caught my eye and made me think that something like this might be affordable now
