On his arrival to Belfast, Rory was asked if he would pick Tiger Woods if he was the American Ryder Cup Captain.

He kinda smiled and paused and then said that Woods would need to improve his recent form.

When asked if he would relish playing Woods in the RC he said yes, "any European would welcome playing Woods in his current form".

I took it that he believes that Woods is now way down in the pecking order and wouldn't be a hard match. Obviously on his day Woods would be a difficult opponent but his current form is poor.

Looks like a combination of youth talking and the current generation not being intimidated by Tiger anymore. Mind you, Tiger on his day would probably drive Rory mad with his putting.

Conventional wisdom would say he shouldn't have said it, its only giving motivation to the other side, remember what Woods did to Stephen Ames a few years back. However Rory is a different level to Ames and I think could care less what Tiger thinks.

They'll probably meet in the final singles now :D

I think what rory said tiger would agree with himself,
tiger is under no illusions and would be the first one to say his recent form is bad and that he feels like hes not good enough at the moment to play RC
