I need new tyres for the car. Where is the best place to go buy them and have them fitted? I want a quick service and good value.

My hunch says Advance on Headford Road just because of their advertising.

    Thanks in advance.

I find Kieran Farrell in Ballybane Ind Estate quite good. They are good to deal with and quick doing things. Not sure how they compare on price to others though to be honest.

The tyre centre in Liosban. I've always found them cheap, fast and pleasant.

Ballybrit Tyre and Exhaust in the Monivea Road out by Windsor motors FTW.

I wouldn't let Advance Pitstop oil the squeaky wheel on my shopping trolley.

if you want to save money on tyres go to loughrea tyre co or ballinasloe tyre co. Ring them for a price.

the city tyre prices are normally higher by a lot!

I got tyres when I was up in Tyrone last year and got a great deal.

On a note of caution: Dont buy mickey mouse...there's loads of cheap'o chinese tyres in the country, if you take a turn on a wet road with these tyres the car stays goin straight on...no grip...big bang..."open wallet surgery" or "surgery".

On another note: make sure the tyres have the E mark as its required for NCT.

In conclusion your gonna cough up from 70 to 120 a tyre. Go for good to medium good brands 'bf goodrich', 'semperit'...etc.

    and be careful out there!

Anywhere I enquired it was more like 70 for the "premium", and from 55 to 60 for "mid-range".

Depends on the tyre size of course.

Someone who sells tyres may have their own opinion of what premium is. Premium profit!!

Do your own work beforehand and check out prices .

and whatever you do, make sure you don't get cheap Chinese tyres - they will fall apart after 6 months...(happened to me...).

    Get a proper brand...
