Anything native Irish in Dublin?

I'm going to Dublin for 5 days and I'm planning my list of things to see and do.
Given Ireland's history it's not surprising that many of the buildings and monuments were built/used by the English/Anglo-Irish. And that Dublin's TWO Cathedrals are Protestant etc etc. I don't mean this to be political but it really is striking that my list is full of sights which fall into this category.
Would you say that the native Irish culture IN DUBLIN can mainly be found in the music you hear in the pubs?
Any other suggestions would be welcome!

There are three national museums (Archaeology, Decorative Arts & History and Natural History) as well as the National Library of Ireland.

But don't forget that as Dublin was founded by the Vikings, it's not really a native Irish city in the truest sense :p

I always thought that St Mary's Pro-Cathedral is a catholic cathedral, since the mass is said by Catholic priests etc

There are in fact three cathedrals in Dublin - 2 Church of Ireland and 1 Catholic.

Dyflin : Two of the three museums you mention along with the National Library were previously owned by the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) and thus were Anglo-Irish institutions.

So what? Are we to ignore our history? What exactly can be seen in Ireland that was built by the 'original' inhabitants? It's all just divisive tosh.

I'm sorry but the OPs query is rather silly, a nations history is exactly that, whoever owned it. Coming from Rome, how much Grecian material is there in Italy or Etruscan (originally Greek)? Should people not visit those sites in Italy?

The UK's monarchy is Hanoverian so would the OP on going to the UK ignore most of the institutions/cathedrals that were built there by the Normans or their descendants?

I agree with the previous poster?
    What defines "Native Irish"?

Dublin is old, older than the vikings but none of that exists anymore.

Some viking stuff was retained but not much could be over the centuries.

Sure, most of our grandest buildings are from the golden age of the British empire, but I wouldnt see that as being "non-Irish"

Perhapes the passage tombs in Newgrange/Knowth/Dowth are more suitable?

Or mabey glendalough in wicklow for some early Christian stuff?
