    Hi all,

Are there any shops in Dublin selling HTPC's:confused: I have seen plenty on the web but would ideally like to see/hear some in the flesh. I would love to see the ASROCK Core 100HT in action but am sure that will not be possible in this country:(

The ASROCK Core 100HT was only launched in June 2010 afaik, it's around €600:eek:, does anyone know how long a device like this is likely to take to drop in price to around €400. Not sure I can justify the €600 and do not want to go 'second best' with an ASROCK ION 330 htpc.

    Cheers :D

HTPC's are usually home builds , Everything in the Asrock models you have seen is available as individual parts.

Both of the Asrock models you list there are about equal, the latest model has the more powerful processor , but it has crappy integrated intel graphics , whereas last years model has the lesser processor , but much much better nvidia ion graphics.

You are highly unlikely to see any PC claiming to be HTPC set up in a shop as a Demo , no matter what you buy , parts to build or an off the shelf box like the Asrock , you will still have a lot of software configuration to do to get it right.

    A HTPC is a project , not a purchase.

Max Burns beside Belgard motors in Tallaght(actually located beside or to the rear of Bargain Town) might have some to look at. They made HTPC's to order in their old premises in Avonberg Enterprise Centre and had some demo's there. You could try ring them first - http://www.maxburns.ie/?Contact=2

I think Peats carry quite good selection of HTPC parts and some pre-builds. Have a look over there
