Im an unemployed teacher and applied for JSB at the beginning of July. Employment prospects here are bleak at the minute, i have to sign on in my local sw office in september. The way things stand im seriously considering going to teach in england. Im just wondering if I go ahead and make the move, what happens to my application? Would I still receive a backdated payment for the time I have spent here looking for work up until the day I left or would my application be cancelled? Any feedback would be appreciated, Thanks

Your application would be backdated and you would be paid until the day you left. You are also entitled AFAIK to two weeks leave from JB so therefore you could go to England for Interview etc. and return to full payment.

Jobseeker's Benefit may be transferred to another EEA member state for up to 13 weeks, if you are looking for work there. You must be getting Jobseeker's Benefit for 4 weeks before you can transfer it to another EEA member state. From 1 May 2010 new EU Regulations came into effect which mean that if you apply to transfer your Jobseeker's Benefit, it will be paid directly to you. You will still be required to register with the employment services of the country where you have gone to look for work within a week.

I'd look into this if I were you. Your JSB claim is already 4 weeks + old. It's just you have not been approved for it yet. Visit your local SWO and make an appointment to discuss this with someone.
