Anyone work from home for this company Lionbridge?

They advertised on Jobs.ie well over a week ago for internet assessors. I did the pre-test screener and I'm still waiting to hear back from them to see did I make it through to the next stage of tests! Did anyone here apply and get through or still waiting to hear back from them?

They were looking for Irish and English language assessors.

My wife is going for an interview with them tomorrow. No idea what to expect.

The internet assessor is just a part time job from home. The assessment was all online, no interview.

I started few weeks ago and was wondering if anyone else is working for them too in this role?

I had an interview with them about 4 years ago. I was offered the job but I declined.

At the time it was localization work which isn't the best...

I hear they are nice enough to work for though.

It's handy for a second earner as the work is just 10-20 hours a week.

My sister went for job in their HR dept. last year and she declined too after being offered it cause it was based in Ballina. Seriously what is it with you people? Going for an interview and then declining the offer :P

The reason I ask here is because I need to hear how others are finding it! The company is sound but there is a basis for a good old rant, and I'd like to compare experiences with fellow newbies!

I applied for that job about 4 years ago. I heard nothing of the results for a few days. I then emailed them and asked. About 4 minutes later I was told I failed with no explanation.

Nice job to get but I was a little peeved I wasn't told why I failed.

I can imagine that'd be annoying as it takes a lot of time to do the exams and get through their guidelines, and it's a lot more effort than normal for applying for a job, so yeah they should have let you know for sure.

The system is different now. You get automatic notification re. pass/fail on the second test, and then couple of days later for the final exam. But there is gap between each of the three stages which drags it out.

What sorts of technologies do they use (O/S, programming languages)
Whats workload like? Staff ok? Location (inside/outside town)
Opportunities for advancement? How do they compare to other Test jobs that you may have done prior?

Sorry mate, you will see if you scroll up, that in my opening post I said I was asking about internet assessors.

For the software side of things maybe contact the HR department? Or start a specific thread?

Don't mind if software developers comment here though :)
