Im talking about actually getting access to someones Facebook account, changing passwords, changing their email passwords etc and locking them out. All the information you need is their email address which is readily available under the "info" tab on facebook. Trust me, any facebook account in minutes.

Well the only way to be truly safe is to have no Facebook account, but if you want to take a chance, well the privacy settings ensure nothing is visible.

There was a security bug back in May this year that allowed private chats to be seen.

Anybody see the false scare mongering video going around. This latin girl, who looked sorta like a tranny, got bludgeoned to death apparently by a bloke who stalked her from facebook.

Turns out she was the girlfriend of a Columbian drug lord and that's how she got killed.

Nope, you can reset the password and get it sent to a secondary "new" email account. Lets just say I know someone who has done this a few times with great success.

Extremely stupid to put your phone number/address/place of work or anything like that up on Facebook in the first place.

If you leave your boards account logged in your friends can do the same thing! If you leave your phone unattended they can send texts, call people. It's not facebook's fault you've forgotten to log out or that your friends are immature and it doesn't make it any less safe.

Tested this out with my own page: went to the reset password page.

I can only see an option to send a new password to your connected email account. Where can you send it to a new secondary email account?

No you can't. If you choose to reset a password, it will only send that password to the email account that the Facebook account was originally registered under. You can't choose the email address that it will go to. The only way that would work is if 'the hacker' had access to the person's email account, and again, that's not Facebook's problem, that's a user mistake on a par with leaving their account logged in
