I am beginning work as an ABA tutor in a couple of weeks and I have been told that I will be paid by the dept of education and that I will be counted as being self employed and so must sort out my taxes at the end of the year myself.
Im going to be working 12 hours a week at a rate of 28 euro an hour, does anybody here know how much tax I will need to pay at the end of the year? Id like to know in advance so I can just keep some aside every week for it.

It really depends on your other earnings and tax credits.

my only other earnins so far this have not been high enough to be taxed as I have been working part time hours. When i start this new job I won't be working anywhere else, so my only earnings will be just the 28 euro an hour 12 hours a week.
Im a single female still living at home with parents .

Won't be much then, if anything, but you may still be "eligible" to pay PRSI.

As you will be self employed, you may be able to claim items as expenses, traveling to and from the school/college won't be allowable as a business expense but items like stationary, reference materials, travel to bank, accountants fee's (you more than likely won't need one) etc., would all be allowable expenses.

How many weeks will you be working?

Im really sorry but i have always been a novice in this area, when you say PRSI do you have any idea how much this might be?
Well im starting in September and it will hopefully be my job until June or July of next year.
    Thanks very much :)
