Motor Tax without NCT ??

    My car has been off the road for a while and the tax expired. The garda have stamped and signed it off and the form requires my NCT certificate no but thats out of date, so if I can't tax it without an NCT cert and I can't drive it to the NCT centre without a tax disc ? What can I do ? The earliest NCT date I can get in Dublin is October !!

    ya dont need the test to tax the car anymore, just leace that part blank

    As above, you don't need a current NCT to tax it.

    Be sure to book the test, and keep the booking letter with you in case of checkpoints. There is now 5 points and up to €1500 fine if convicted of driving with no NCT......
