17 minutes in now, Clare minors are impressive (not that I'm biased of course :D) but their taking their score nicely, just missed a goal.

    8 points to 1 now

BTW, I know there's a seperate thread on the commentry in Irish but I find it wonderful I have to say. It has been 15 years since I studied Irish but after 5 minutes I didn't realize that I was listening to Irish, just understood everything.

Some great scores going over from both sides, underage hurling is so much better to watch than senior.

Anyway, in case anyone cares, 9-6 now in favour of Clare

Dublin are coming back into it now, got off to a very slow start. Slightly more competive than last weeks game.

Dublin well back into it now, good game of hurling, 2 points in it at half time, I've a feeling the Kilkenny minors won't be fearing either team in this

Stinker of a goal for Dublin, sideline dropped by the goalie, good forward play being in looking for the spill though, looks like the goalie got a bad bang on his hand. Why can't Clare get goalies that won't make mistakes in Croke Park :)

12 to 1-7 now 7 minutes into the second half

This looks similar to the Munster final, let in a soft goal and then pull away, hopefully

    15 to 1-8 now

Goalie sells himself to 1 side, good response by Daragh Keane though (Tommy's son btw :)) and Podge Collins.

    19 to 2-10 now

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,028 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

Another good point, 20 to 2-10 now (am I talking to myself btw, first sign of madness......)

I'm going to start looking for all ireland tickets now I think.........

Fair play to the Dubs, there puttin it up to Clare considering all the critics saying Clare would walk away with it....

Clare need to take their heads out of their arses, 2 min left they need to make sure Dub dont get any further ahead. Saw about 75-100 people in Clare jerseys around Croker earlier, shocked to see so many turn up, what with only seeing about 6 Dubs!!!!! And they bloody live there!

Hard luck Baile atha Cliath.....Well done Clare

I didn't think anyone was taking Dublin for granted, still great to be in a final, 1 a year will keep me happy :) Now if anyone has 2 tickets for me I'd really appreciate it :)

The difference is that Clare aren't in any championship anymore and Dublin are playing next week against Cork

You've to remember as well that there's a lot of Clare people living in Dublin, it's a far bigger day out for Clare to play in Croke Park than the Dubs :)

What has that to do with it, my parnter is at this game and is going to the one next week too, the Dubs have to travel very little to get to Croker!

Why are so many people on this forum so paranoid as to weather dublin have supporters at games in croke park.

For your information i wasn't willing to pay €30 to watch a minor match. For far to long i have paid these prices but this year i decided to take a step back. I will be in tullamore next saturday for our U21's semi final and croker on sunday for the football. I doubt next weekend will be a full house either.

Very few counties travel or support their minors its not just dublin. Maybe if the gaa bothered to market or sell their product you might get a few more butts on seats.

As regards the game we started slowly and got motoring before the break and made a game of it in the second half but clare were always a step a head. There was some nice long range points scored by both teams. Best of luck in the final but its some minor kilkenny team your up against.

Thats my point its very easy for people to come on here and have a dig at supporters but i was not willing to pay that kind of money out for a minor game since i am going to be at two next weekend.

Ah Clare are doomed! But hell its a day out for the boys. The minors of every county need more support, I was surprised to see so many Clare fans.

Ya the OH will be there next week, he was there last week too (got a present of a ticket last week). He loves just going to GAA, regardless of county. He is a Clare man, but since we are living on the Dublin/Wicklow border he has gone to a fortune of Dub games in both the hurling and football, even through the league.

I'm from Cork and I can say, not a hope will Cork travel for the day, they dont travel for all-ireland finals, let alone anything else!!!!

I think Clare got very sloppy leaving in 2 goals in the second half, they are not going to do well at all if they play like that against Kilkenny!!!

I do think that is hilarious that they raise the prices so much towards the end of the season!!! I mean we have paid a fortun out this year to them and they dont care about the fact that it is an amateur sport for the everyday person!!!!

Great win for Clare hurling today.
The likes of Tony Kelly and Colm Galvin in midfield were immense.
Podge Collins and Niall Arthur putting over scores too that were just pure class.
Was rather disappointed with O' Halloran. Expected alot from him seeing as he is very promising. But sure, everyone has a bad day.
There can't be a bad word said about substitute Cunningham either. 2 points from play straight after he came on like!

Regards Dublin, they were very unlucky not to pull back in the end with that oh so close goal chance. I wouldn't have denied it to them either as they fought back hard to get to that stage.
Costello was epic for them. Whenever he got the ball, he just charged through. I can really see him in the future playing for Dublin. 1-01 i think he scored.

Honestly, I don't think Clare will defeat Kilkenny but looking at the likes of Tony Kelly in midfield, Paul Flanagan in defense and Podge Collins upfront, Clare are making huge strides underage.

I don't want to pay €30 to see the minors. I would gladly pay €30 to see the seniors. Also I have to prioritise my choice of games. Which is more important the Minor Hurlers or the Senior Footballers.
    The Senior Footballers

Ahhhh, nice to see a thread start to celebrate 1 topic be brought over to comments on Dub supporters :)

When I lived in Dublin myself and a couple of other lads used to go to Croke Park every Sunday cause it was such a novelty for us, up from the country and be able to go, it's a bit like concerts on in the Point that wouldn't be full, if they were on in Glór people would be going mad at them. I wouldn't blame supporters for not going to see minors playing, not only was it on television but the weather was fantastic yesterday. In the past few years Clare play on average twice a year in Croke Park in all grades (male and female), so that's ~€90 a year, how often do Dublin teams play there? 10 times? that's 5 times more, of course supporters are entitled to concentrate on their Under 21s who have a great chance of making the final or the footballers.

Well done Clare, we sneaked through when we should have won by 6 points.

I hate the "that's some Kilkenny minor team" and "Clare haven't a hope, sure it's a day out" attitude. It was "some Kilkenny U21 team" that Clare beat in last year's U21 final. Undoubtedly, Clare are going to be underdogs but they won't give a shíte.

sush Keano, don't let Kilkenny think they have anything to worry about, sure they are going to win handy, in fact I would recommend them playing the under 16s just to get them ready for the 3 in a row attempt next year

Poor enough U-21 team last year to be honest.

Clare will have it all to win pressure on Kilkenny bigtime in the final as they are expected to win well. Minor hurling anything can happen.
What odds on Kilkenny winning neither match???:eek:
