Using ASUS K50ID-SX105X, never drops off net, Windows 7 Pro

Maybe you have a faulty wireless NIC.

I have a different issue with mine, just got it there this week and it connects to the network and says limited connectivity and but i cant open any webpage. Just says not connected, seems to be a common problem with windows 7 and I cant get it sorted! Have another laptop and it connects no bother.

Only when attached to my WRT160N router. Piece of ****.

Reliable ol' WRT54G never let me down. It could be your router.

I have a wrt160N and have managed to get it working flawlessly , but it took some effort going on to their forums etc to find out the solutions etc.

Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 on laptop, and Windows 7 Starter on netbook, with no wifi problems (except for this one javahouse hotspot that may have a configuration problem with their wifi device).

Despite the doubting Thomases earlier this is most DEFINITELY a major issue worldwide and THIS fixes it

    http://www.catonett.com/blog/archives/194

Of course expecting punters to be able to do this (or the typical PC store jockey !) is absurd!
Tried everything for days on our new 1201T ,this was the solution .

    1) Nobody was a doubting Thomas, you asked a question, and people replied with their personal experiences.
2)The page you've posted refers to a problem with Vista machines.

soz mines grand...though my desktops wireless card isnt happy with the upgrade...i bought the card as an add on when it was on vista...then when i went to W7...i never installed drivers for it cause it got it from the windows update server...when i pop the driver cd in it says not compatible with W7...did you have W7 natively or upgrade?

i have done the thingy with the red edit that was for vista on the desktop...will see how that affected it :)

btw finaly got myself to find the update W7 driver ;)

    Hello Everyone,

I had the same problem and searched for 2 days for an answer.

I am running Intel Centrino Wireless n 1030 in Windows 7.

I finally came across an updated driver for the Centrino Wireless n 1030. It was updated 5/2011 which was more current than the 12/2010 version I had on my computer.
    http://www.driveridentifier.com/scan/download.php?item_id=51625129&scanid=6BEF4EB662F14B20B13ACCD8D322B6A9&hardware_id=PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_008A&SUBSYS_53258086

When you log onto the site it says that !This driver is not designed for you computer!, but I downloaded and installed it anyways.

    IT FIXED EVERYTHING!!!!!!

    I hope this helps...

    Lindsay
