    Is the Abbeyshrule Airshow still going? I cant seem to be able to find out any info about it being on this year .
    Any body help?

    Looks like today is the day that anyting might happen, but no airshow.

    Although there will be no airshow, the big name on August 15 will be Mattie Griffin who will perform his unique stunts on his new BMW F800R. His performance is sure to attract bike lovers and friends of Abbeyshrule Airfield from around the region.

    On the day also there will be a pilot workshop for the novice aviation enthusiast. Airclub 2000 and Ultraflight will provide the workshops throughout the day.

    i think the op was talking about an airplane show at abbeyshrule airfield not a bike show.;)

    I went to the Birr fly in on Saturday...great turnout and an excellent day was had by all. :)

    Ahhhh feck it I really should have looked at this last weekend:(
    Im not too far from the airfield as the crow flies . It explains now what the planes flying in formation were all about.

    I never actually realised how big of a show it was.
    Im just a blow in to the area.
    There used to be a stunt flier woking out of there sometimes , havent seen them much this year but last year we were entertained by loop the loops and dives most weekends
