You'll need to give us some info like starting point, the amount of time you have and what it is that interests you (cities as opposed to countryside for example)

If you're interested in the outdoors, then I can't recommend the Lake District enough, it's the most stunning place I have ever been. Base yorself in Keswick for a day or two, it's a lovely market town with great pubs, restaurants and shops. It is right on the shore of Derwentwater which is a beautiful lake. There are plenty of walks and hiking in the area for walkers of all levels of fitness. We were there in April and twinned the Lakes with a couple of days in York. Fantastic medievel city, nice and compact walking city and again great pubs, restaurants and shopping.
