Has anyone met a famous rapper and were they a dick or were they sound.

Met a few - The Game in Dublin in 2006 and 2007, Diddy and Snoop Dogg together in Dublin 2007, Pharrell in Dublin 2007, Ne-Yo in Dublin last December (I think) and Snoop again last month in Dublin!

Couple of other more unknown rappers too, all of them seemed grand, just got a picture with Ne-Yo, didn't really talk just said thanks, Game was sound, autographed my Documentary album and posed for a picture with him the second time. Got Diddys autograph and shook his hand, shook Pharrells hand, dont know if that really counts as he was walking past the front row of his concert?

Snoop in was 2007 especially obliging, seemed very happy to meet a fan of his, said he loved coming to Ireland and meeting his Irish fans, talked for a few more minutes and got a few pictures with him.

    Nobody really famous.
I met mc supernatural a few years back and smoked a couple of joints with him. Really nice dude and really passionate about hiphop. He actually walked up to me and asked me for a light and then just started chatting.

I met craig g from the juice crew and he was nothing like a expected. Really sound and down to earth person.

Rahzel kinda seems like he's sick of meeting and greeting people cos he used to tour so much.

Lord finesse is actually a really cool bloke and takes the time to sign stuff for his fans and when i say time i mean he sat their for about an hour after a tour hour show to forty people and listened to idiots quoting his songs over and over loudly in his ear and was mad cool about it.

Met guru but unfortanely it was a real bad night for him. He'd just done a solo show with pretty awful sound and someone in the crowd shouted the n word at him and he just wanted to get away. Doo wop was djing for him and seen i had a 12" vinyl with me and chased after him and got him to sign it, which i suppose says a lot about guru as he still signed it despite the fact he'd had a **** time. R.I.P.

They're all ****in legends. Was it an Irish crowd where someone called guru the n word. Things like that really break my temper. Its such a **** thing to do. I remember being at a de la soul gig at electric picnic one year and there was this drunk idiot shouting **** at the top of his lungs. I told him to shut his ****ing mouth.

I've met Slug, Ant, Ali, BK One, all of the original Arsonists, Shabazz, El-P, Pigeon John.

Ant is a super cool dude, ended up talking to him about the cost of petrol and fuel effeciancy.

Pigeon John is another super genuine person, after meeting him we exchanged email addresses and kept in touch for a while.

The Arsonist invited me to some party to get blazed with them, i was a youngfella at the time with a curfew so i couldnt attend unfortunatly.

El-P is a humble dude, he asked me for a light before his gig in Crawdaddy recently and shot the sh*t with him for a bit.....he actually wanted a lighter to open his beer from the rider.

BK One is also a seriously nice guy, talked to him about music, t-shirts and google.

I'm sure there are others i've met.....

Met Chuck D a good few years back as he was unloading the gear out of the tour bus!! He was proper sound though and seemed content to listen to my drunken ramblings about the merits of P.E various albums without too much complaint.

I met Nas once. Brief, awkward as hell, about 3 second conversation.

    On the not so famous.

I know Ill Bill and Danny Boy. I know nearly all of Ill Bill's family.

I've seen lot's of rappers that I haven't met in NYC - Jay-Z, Cam'ron, Ja Rule, 5 Cent, Fat Joe, Ghostface Killah, Q-Tip.

When I was 10 back in 1999, I wasnt really interested in music, my older brother (18) however was huge into rap (how i got into it eventually) and in particular he loved Wu Tang Clan. His favourite memeber was ODB. We were in New York on holiday with the family and we were crossing the road when all of a sudden my brother stops, I turn around and see what seems to be my brother shouting at a homeless man, I got closer and he was saying "I ****ing love you man! Your my favourite rapper", the homeless man was infact Ol' Dirty Bastard, stoned out of his mind and carrying booze in a brown paper bag. My brother told him he was from Ireland and ODB thought that was cool, I waved and he gave me a thubs up, which at 10 years old was so cool to me.

Met Eminem (and have the signed My Name Is 12" to prove it).

Seemed nice and cracked a joke, but that was on his first club tour in the US... He's prolly a dick now.

have met quite a few, none of the massive ones tho,

I always appreciated the ones who stay behind after shows,
cant remember any who were particularly rude,
but generally they are looking for weed or girls, not drunk fans,
but if they see you have a record, they always appreciate that & sign it

I just saw a few big Mercedes jeeps round the side as I was leaving and wasn't doing anything else so said I'd stick around. Only ended up being about 15 or so people hanging around; Drake came out pretty soon after show left and I think signed one autograph, seemed in a rush - may have had something to do with the three girls he had hanging out of him :D. Then we were waiting a while for J Cole, think he was doing an interview but Omen came out in the mean time and was just hanging out chatting to everyone, getting in pictures, brought stuff into Cole to get signed etc, real sound chap! Eventually J Cole came out, signed everything and was generally just really cool, down to earth. Made the trip over especially, delighted I did, couldn't believe my luck the way it worked for the ticket and flights and everything! Next time he'll be back in these parts he should be massive!

I've met a few over the years. Most of them are pretty sound and will chat away. The Pharcyde were great, real happy guys and you could tell they were loving the Irish buzz. I had a brief exchange with Questlove from the Roots, shook his hand got a picture, he's such a hero that that was enough for me. Mos Def was an ass and he put on a terrible show too, he was drunk and obnoxious and basically anyone who was at that show will remember it. He told us to f*** off.

I've met Dj Premier a few times over the years, he signed my passport and when I saw him again a year and a half later he remembered it which was deadly.

The best one though was when I got introduced to Arrested Development and they asked me if I could get them weed. Over the course of the weekend they called me a few times and then at the gig on saturday night they brought us up into the little VIP snug in Crawdaddy and we had loads of free drink. Afterwards then we took the two younger guys and one of the dudes from People Under the Stairs on a pub crawl all the way up Camden Street stopping in Wheelans, Flannerys and the Palace, eventually ending up in Hogans where Double K from People was playing a DJ set. Brought them all back to a house party in my mates gaff then. I've loads of videos of them hammered drunk freestyling in the living room with a load of Irish students around them. Notably for rappers their hiphop knowledge was brutal, and the guys from Arrested Development had never even heard of People Under The Stairs despite the fact that People were supporting them. All they could say about the Roots was that they'd heard of them.

All in the Pod complex. First time I saw him was in the old Redbox years ago, maybe 2002. Then I kind of met him in Pod which was the time he signed my passport which was 2005. It was actually Pod again then after that in 2007. Then finally I met him again in Crawdaddy about a year after that and by then he remembered me and was cool out and proper had a banter out in the smoking area for the bones of an hour but in a group like, there were loads of people coming over talking to him and he just hung out shooting the **** with whoever was around. Cool dude.

Met Vanilla Ice years ago in Malibu.

Was chatting to a friend outside the steps to the beach with my longboard under my arm.
Mate was on a lowrider Suzuki when this guy wanders over wearing a wifebeater & cap and starts talking motorcycles with us.

Sound skin but I don't think Ice Ice Baby cuts it here?:D

Not yet, but I would love to in the future.

I hate rappers and musicians who disappear up their own arse.

They should always remember what it was like to be starting out or just a music fan.

In fairness to someone like Deadmau5, he has a reputation for being a dick but he goes out of his way to talk to his fans on webcams and social networks.

Many rappers are the same really.
