Z-Day survival plan

There has been many threads on "will you survive" and "what weapon will you use" but not on a survival plan.

So what would YOU do? Don't be unrealistic saying you'll toast all the zombies with your flamethrower or take them down with you machine guns and 50.cal sniper rifles. This simply could not happen with the weapon restrictions in Ireland.

Where will you be/go? Family spot in the countryside
How will you get there? car its not that far
How will you fortify your safe-house/transportation? house is 150yr old farm house/barn windows on the ground floor are the tiny(a small child couldnt fit through them) the site is surrounded by walls on 3 side and a sheer cliff on the other
What provisions will you bring? uh? whatever will fit in the car
What weapons will you bring? blunt weapons and the stuff thats stored in the house
Who will you be with? family,and extended family

as for the final one ive been thinking abouth this for a while, first we raid lidl beside my house, get as much provisions as possible, next we head down to the petshop, get rabbit food and take the rabbits, mainly because theyre amazing and also we can breed them for food, then we would hit the open road as fast as possible, make a move to monaghan and fortify the area as best we can. set up patrols and start giving out jobs.

over the next year or so, well survive by farming, breeding rabbits and growing our own food,

as lennie would say wed 'live off the fatta the lan'!!!

the best thing about my survival plan is that its all very possible

My plan is to "borrow" a small coach from a local bus depot.I will then return home to get survival and other supplies like, radio, tools, walkie talkies, mattress, first aid, weapons and any long lasting food that i can find.Take family and or survival group.

I will then go to a local abandoned building site/ scrap yard i know of. Here i will fortify my coach's windows with steal meshy fence things (like the cages around some windows) i Will then fill the luggage under carriage area with building/defensive supplies like corrugated iron, wood and scaffolding poles which are in plenty of supply there, I will also take one or two of the oil drums there to fill up with petrol/diesel at a later time.

I will then go and fill drums up before driving far away to an isolated area untill the zombies are exterminated or people abandon their shops so i can go and get more supplies.

This is how i plan to survive the first few weeks/months. Only moving from place to place when compromised or in need of supplies.

The weapons i will bring will include an axe and a bow and arrows that are in my shed along with a few other make shift weapons. If the zombies completely take over i plan on finding an infected soldier who was infected during battle with the zombies so would have weapons ammunition armour along with other helpful utilitties.

In the long run i would plan on securing or building some sort of safehouse/headquarters ad try to get in touch with other survivors

Where will you be/go? Country side. smaller population = less zombies.

How will you get there? Some sort of car I'd imagine. Lets just say a BMW? I like them... Comfy.

How will you fortify your safe-house/transportation? I liked the metal barriers protecting the home of Will Smith used in I am legend. I really doubt that the chances of applying such fortification are high enough to plan pre- z-day. SO. Timber? Oh and place barrels of flammable fluids so can be used when large masses invade!

What provisions will you bring? Simple tinned foods? Try to bring foods with syrups so they don't make ya thirsty and you need to venture for water as a result.

What weapons will you bring? I'm sure the country has shotguns lying round in fields and whot not.

Who will you be with? My wife. 2 friends (male). And my mommy. :rolleyes: lol

My plan was to do the attic thing, its already converted etc but after having a conversation with friends living on Inisheer (Aran Islands) I am reconsidering.

Seemingly Inisheer & Inisman were the only places in Ireland where no one died from the famine as they were totally self sufficent. Thought this was interesting! Im not far from Doolin so Im going to have to rethink my plan!! Any advise appreaciated!!

tbh i wouldn't go near an island as most people will have that same idea and masses of people converging on the islands will bring a certain amount of infected with them not to mention that the islands wouldn't be able to support that amount of people for very long

im going to make my way home to my parents house in the country (collecting useful stuff like food and weapons and useful people on the way)

the village is pretty populated with the building boom, but i think we would be able to rally the neighbors and fortify a few houses near enough to each other and we should be able to hold out for a while we would have to do regular patrols to lessen the zombie numbers in the vicinity (everybody would be expected to do their bit)

we will grow our own food and we have access to a large body of water not far from the houses.

there are a lot of farms in the area so we can scavenge weapons, tools and food, and any livestock that is low maintenance and useful. chickens will be our new currency (i like Sonic's rabbit plan too)

as more people flock to our safe zone we will open up more of the abandoned houses (of course all new arrivals will be quarantined first to make sure none are infected) and plant more crops and patrol a bigger area

we will also look out for other safe zones that we could possibly trade with

we will survive quite comfortably :cool:

Where will you be/go?: il go to the biggest wood i can find
How will you get there? probly by jeep,just rob a few and a few vans
and start a small armoured convoy and use the motor ways as its safer
How will you fortify your safe-house/transportation? simple,use chainsaws to cut down trees and build up barracades in the wood,also build small shacks and then use the cleared land for farming
What provisions will you bring?hop in the transit and off to the nearby shops for anything i can get my hands on and maybe into town for some stuff or any towns along the way
What weapons will you bring? anything i can get my hands on,lots of chainsaws around my house...axes..knives..hurls my dads shot gun and then off to kilkenny barracks to see if i can get some assault rifles and stuff and re arm the jeeps to have small turrets
Who will you be with?my family duh, my cousin,anyone that aint infected really
