You are being taken for a walk up to garden path.

    All substitutions are FREE.

No arguement, debate about it. Any for him to say its in the law. Ask him to show you the section or SI that relates to the charge for substitutions then show him this from HIS comissioners guidelines...................

When an application to substitute a firearm certificate is made – on the basis of ‘like for like’ – the process should be completed by the Garda Síochána in a reasonable time frame of approx. 14 days. This application will be made on the ordinary application form FCA1 and will not require a fee.

ha ha good 1, i shoot a few thousand acers for 4 farmers and they supply about half the cartridges, used to use berettas al391 autos but tent to empty these every time a flock comes in, now use browning trap guns can take a lot of punishment, have done this for years dont know how many pigeons i shoot as most is over standind corn and farmers say to leave them , but picked us 1342 pigeons in 2 mornings with 16 year old on stubble, have fired 4 crates 1000 shells but normal would be 2 crates in the morn, that puts them flying pretty heigh, find if you hit them the morn they hit the field dont tend to come back, leave them for a day or so and you will get good banging for a few goes. happy hunting..

3/4 and full choke fixed in trap with 32in barrels, and dianas 7 1/2 28g t2's 0r dianas 6's 30g in caesar guerini tempio light 2 half chokes 28in barrels,to be honest anything between 25 and 40 yards and even a little further at times will never eat corn again, i know a lot of people will say different they like to use 6's 32's i dint know after 30 years shooting mabey they did'nt suit me,think i said this before but heard a lot of trap shooters complaining that dianas were to hard so a few year ago gave them a try on pigeons and do they hit hard just a cloud of feathers anywhere up to 40 yards. just my take on them. PS; sometimes use berette 687s 2 half chokes same affect.

Love to know where all those birds are, i was out in 150 acres of barley yesterday and I saw ~20 birds and they were in the elements.

That is a lot of banging.
    even in a week!
I have a load of them dianas, they don't cycle well in my Remington 105CTi, she prefers Remington shells and Eley.

remingtons very expencive, i pay 140 yo yo a 1000 for dianas, i know with autos had trouble with some shells got a 1000 think it was vouge shells they ar rubbish, i would be shooting north tipp about 30 mile radius, nearly all stubble here now, any stubble near lough derg with good heigh trees seems to keep them moving back and fort to you, use 6 bouncers, pecker, magnet and 50 decoys and will draw them in even if passing in the elements.
