Which show do you find to be the best for car info and entertainment! Top Gear or Fifth Gear?

Top gear for guests but I really enjoy the crashes on 5th gear!

Top gear as i watch it to be entertained i find fifth gear a bit low budget and the presenters very annoying.

Top gear for pure entertainment, it's funny and enjoyable and sometimes have the useful bit of into but Unfortunately i'm never gonna buy a lambo lp670-4 or whatever flashy car they'll drive week after week but it's good fun to watch all the same.

Fifth gear for more realistic "everybody" kinda things, but christ those presenters would wreck your head. Vicki butler whatsherface is the most annoying person in the world, and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th are all also presenting fifth gear.

5th gear is pretty poor - its so low budget by comparison and I really hate Tiff and that curly haired gobsh1te who tries far too hard to be funny.

Oh, that curly haired gob****e was in one of our JLR workshops on Wednesday morning filming some of the new RR Evoque.

Quite different shows in a way really. Top Gear is more about the entertainment and fantasy cars that nobody can afford to buy. Fifth Gear is more like what Top Gear used to be like, except it's rubbish. Presenters are really annoying on it.... There definitely does need to be a better version of fifth gear produced that actually reviews cars that people buy...

There was an Irish show a few years ago that wasn't too bad... can't remember the name... anyone?

Yeah if I remember rightly it was on RTÈ1, but it only lasted for about 6 shows. As I heard it was costing to much to produce! The City channel also had some 20min Car review show recently, but it finished a few months back!

Top Gear is barely about cars these days. There’s something really annoying about 5th gear.

I will give Tiff credit for one thing.......for an old man he can sure drive and ten times better than Clarkson or Hammond !! I personally used to prefer Top gear 10/15 years ago when they used to test average Joe soap cars but now its Supercar this and Supercar that-boring

If I was looking for advice or opinions on a car I was thinking of buying - Fifth Gear. Their presenters are talented racing drivers, know what they're talking about and give practical reviews that are relevant to those of us that aren't multi-trillionaire playboys.

For general entertainment, Top Gear all the way!

Compleatly agree, Tiff is by far a better driver but then again he is a race car driver unlike Jeremy or Richard.

I love Top Gear espically for all the 'taken the piss' things they do but over the past year or so I think its turning into too much of an entertainment show when its ment to be a car show. One thing that gets to me about Top Gear ( and this is why I voted 5th Gear in the poll) is that they never do much on normal cars that we see on the roads....its a lot of the time Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, Mercedes that cost yea a mortgage ect ect. I also thought that the Vectra was always given a hard time of Jeremy but I'll leave that for another day .

Now don't get me wrong they really go out of there way by doing things like driving around Africa and having Jeremy drive a car from the likes of Italy to London and the other two racing him in a plane or train and the likes and thats the part I like about it.

Anyways all in all Top Gear for entertainment and 5th Gear for the stuff they do on cars that most of us people use in day to day life.

The programme was called "Drive" and presented by Karl Tsigdinos, was quite good as far as I can remember.

I like to watch Top Gear because its ridiculously funny and quite entertaining. But sadly that's all it has become now, an entertainment show.

The latest series of Fifth Gear on the other hand is a big improvement over the previous ones. They do much more proper car reviews. So its a more proper program for a petrol head to watch.

So Top Gear for general audience.
Fifth Gear for the proper petrol head.

Top Gear for me, but Im glad both shows are around. Top Gear caters for a fix of supercar porn on a sunday evening, while Fifth Gear is a more serious show which reviews cars people actually buy! Also in Tiff, they have a guy whos has actually raced competitively and could easily run rings around the Top Gear lads, so his opinion holds more weight.
