No, the one time I met him over a few drinks he came across as an absolute gentleman. To have dedicated his life to the fai he must really gave a passion for it.

Leave the lad alone, he just had a pay cut and now scraps by on his €400,000+ a year wage.

Chin up John the recession won't last forever.

He's an eeijit, wouldn't even own up to the fact that it was a mistake picking Staunton even though he had no experience.

...or that the pricing for tickets at the new Landsdowne are too high
...or being the only nation who's international jersey you can't buy without the sponsor's logo

in terms of personality, ive met him a few times and he comes across as an absolute gent, really up for talking to everybody and carries himself well.

he will however, be remember as the man who gave the reigns to the most underqualified man to manage an international team in the history of football.

bad idea for a thread here, the LOI lads dont like him one bit and they hold alot of things against him.

i will say however, that Irish underage football is thriving, coaching is getting to a huge standard and our facilities all over the country are getting better and better and he has played a part in that.

John Delaney you're a lovely bloke, John Delaney you're a lovely bloke, you love the league, you run it well, John we think you're really swell.

That's the lovely re-worded version after the FAI aka John said he'd fine us if it was sung, got a bit of a round going out in Bray though.:)

As for the man himself, he's a clueless fool with Fran Gavin by his-side they make the best couple to ruin this league and have done a damn good job at it.

I think hes great, the grass roots things he has done are brilliant.

Piece of piss for anyone with an interest to get serious qualifications and they actually encourage it.

Dunno why theother LOI lads hate him tbh  its not like he is cheating the licencing system.
