I think I am suffering from depression, in the last 6 months I have lost my job, lost my girlfriend and am under serious financial pressure to pay bill etc.,

I no longer use my car which I am still paying for as I cant afford the tax and insurance and I cant afford to even go to my doctors as I cant afford 60 euro, I have started to wonder if there is any point but I decided to look online and it seems if you have the money then you can do something if you cant then its not so good for you. I have tried to contact groups like aware but they run group session and I dont want to talk in front of a load of strangers no matter if they are in the same boat. Is there anything I can do, I have few friends or family and they are the type of people to tell you to snap out of it, stop feeling sorry for yourself and things like that. I am at my wits end here and it seems there is no one who cares or can help. Is there some sort of free service to see a doctor for this or are people like me just left to rot slowly?

    Very upset and scared here?????

Then start by applying for a medical card so you can get free medical treatment.

Next, if you think you need help with depression, you wont find it here. The best help you will get is by contacting a group like Aware or Shine and talking to somebody. Don't back away from group sessions, you will only be strangers for a few minutes, so it's no big deal.

Don't think you'll find the help you need on the internet, you can only find advice there about where real help is available.

    Get real help.

    Be at peace,

    Z

You can go to your GP about depression

There's different types with different solutions

If you on the dole you should get a medical card no problem, or at least a GP Visit card

1)Visit a GP as suggested. The medical card should be able to cover this and any expenses. Also even if it doesnt on the public system the mental health stuff is covered for free(Or at least it used to be)

2)Self diagnosis is no diagnosis. Internet, friends etc will be able to give uninformed opionions but may end up doing more harm then good. The "Get over it" attitude can be very very counter productive a person in the state of depression.

3)Your situation sucks. It really does however you can come back from it. Each problem just seems to glob together to form one large mass which looks impossible to tackle. If you pick them off one by one or just realise there are certain thing beyond your control.

4)Personal suggestion, take from it what you will and treat like internet advice(*grain of salt*). If you arent already take you some sort of exercise up. Start small. You'll feel better for it and it will improve your overall health. It also helps with depression. You cant control the job market, your ex or even your bills the way youd like but you can change yourself.
