Retrieving Pics From a Formatted Card

    Hi ,

    I've a Q i hope someone can answer!
Was out at a Steam Rally on Sunday and took about 200 photo's ,but when i put my sd card into my laptop's card reader , it said the card had to be formatted :( it said the same when i put it back into the camera .

I searched for old threads about this happening ,and someone suggested a program called PC inspector file recovery .

I downloaded this and 'lightly' formatted the card as suggested in the previous post.

The recovery software has found the picture's , but the problem is it has only recovered about 1/4 of each actual image (cluster's)

What im thinking is that the other 'bits' of the image are also on the card , but is there anyway (or a program) that puts the clusters together to form the full image or may i just accept the loss of my pics :(

    Any ideas people ?

    Cheers,
    John

You may have lost the rest I'm afraid.

You could try a program called Recuva. I managed to delete half my movie collection recently and immediately used this program and recovered all but one or two movies, all in perfect condition.

It also has the option to recover files from removable storage devices and cards which is what you need.

    Good luck!

I'd suggest bringing it in to a good pc repair shop, who know what their doing, i've had similar problems with crashed hard drives, its amazing what they can do - - someone here should be able to suggest a good reasonable priced shop
