    There is a road off Sandymount in Dublin called Lea Road but it has 2 signs on either side of the road;

    • Bóthar An Bháin (lea road)
    • Bóthar Lia (lea road)
    Any idea why?

    Who knows :confused:

    No more than Kildare St - on one end of the street, you have Sráid Chill Dara. On the other, you have Sráid Cill Dara.

    Another one: Bóthar Cowper and Bóthar Cowpéir :confused:

    According to Dublin City Council it's Bóthar an Bháin only now

    The Placenames´ Commission have it as Bóthar an Bháin here and they would have the most authorative version. There are lots of dodgy Irish translations printed on signs and Bóthar Lia is probably just another one.
