16 man challenge thingy

    Im currently arranging one of those challenge thingys which are becoming quiet popular. It involves groups where you have a series of say 10 events, give points to the top 3 places and at the end of the 10 events theres a prize for whoever gets the most points.

    My first question is has anyone ever heard of these and what are they called?

    And my second is, has anyone got any really good original ideas that i havent thought of. I already have the obvious ones like golf, pool, go-karting, poker etc. All ideas appreciated!
