Maybe the handle was pared down and sharpened ....

We live in a city where people are walking around with hatchets as weapons

I'd like to apply the standard Limerick city thread formula to this:

    shocking news.
    not that big a deal.
    happened in limerick.
    could have happened everywhere.
    scum ridden city.
    facts or gtfo.
    something about the government.
    off topic meandering.
    I blame the Dublin media.
    Isnt rugby great through?
I know someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who saw a woman get stabbed in the eyes by a 5 year old.
    no you dont.
    thread derailed and locked.

Did you really have to do this so early in the thread? I don't mind a bit of cynicism every so often, but taking the piss out of the forum 8 posts into a thread is just annoying.

Post about the topic brought up in the OP or don't post at all.
    Thanks.

This happened on Davis Street across from the train station not Thomas Street. I work on the street and the girl in the shop next door came in to tell us. She said it was supposedly just because he was a forgiener (how true that is i don't know). The guy took the hatchet out of his back and was talking to the gardai at the train station where the guy who did it was caught. A few people working in the area went over to help him.

Not to side with the hatchet wielding lunatic but I'd imagine this is bullshít.

Have no idea of the who or whys in what happened or where those involved are from, but it strikes me that anybody who carries a hatchet around the streets of any town and who is willing to use it on another person should be locked away with a sentence matching what should be seen as a serious offence.

    From todays live 95fm.

30 year old albanian is recovering in hospital.

21 year old limerick man has been released by gardai. A file has been sent to dpp.

So he's back on the streets.

It said it occured after altercation.

Don't know if they are 'friends 'or random strangers.
