What exactly is a serum for? Is it a moisturiser or something you use with moisturiser. I have oily skin, so I wondering if using a serum would be ok??

There's loads of different serums available, some are hydrating, some anti-ageing etc. I use the Clarins hydra-quench serum under my moisturiser. I find it great because I've dehydrated skin but if I use a heavier moisturiser my skin breaks out.
