Was driving out the Malahide Road this morning bout 1030-11 just past Balgriffin Cemetary and saw a Swiss Air plane coming into land but then he suddenly banked off raised his landing gear and headed back towards the sea thought a bit odd till I got to the quarry at Feltrim and saw the Garda helicopter over the Airport. Any one an idea of what was going on?

No idea, but it was over Ranelagh/Rathmines before lunch, and then hovered over Donnybrook for a while at about 2.

Didn't seem to be looking for anything/anyone in particular though.

Could have been a go around for the Swiss Air flight, Garda heli may have been a coincidence. Ask on the Aviation forum you'll get a better answer.

Listening to the news it sounds like larry was out well before this and the chopper was just hovering over the airport.

He got out at 10.10am and the chopper was used to follow his taxi.

was just on the news that he attempted to travel to the airport twice.

It was definitely for that imo

A coincidence I'd say. The aborted landing of the Swiss plane was most likely due to another aircraft not clearing the runway in time.

We should ask for a garda helicopter forum at this rate.

Murphy emerged from Arbour Hill at 10.17am yesterday looking fitter and bulkier than when he was last seen in public 10 years ago.

Wearing a hooded top, baseball cap and sunglasses, and clutching a holdall, he got into a waiting taxi without making any comment to waiting media. A group of protesters who had gathered shouted abuse at him.
Uniformed gardai maintained a large presence outside the prison and a garda helicopter hovered overhead.
As the taxi drove off it was quickly followed by a three press photographers on motorcycles and a number of unmarked garda cars.
A short time later Murphy went into Coolock garda station where he complained that he was being harassed by members of the media.
