    Hi lads,

Got my WE 1911 MEU today, was working fine earlier so i stripped it and lubed but since then it aint right.

What happens is i fire one round and the slide appears to be stuck or jammed after the BB has left the barrel, its a balls to get it moving again. Even if you cycle a few times manuelly by yourself it will get stuck after a bit.

    Any ideas?

Hmm...is it getting caught back by the hammer? If so it's a leaf/sear spring issue by the sounds of it

Yea just fired a few dry rounds, so lets say an imaginery BB was in it you shoot and the slide returns so you know your out of ammo, the slide gets jammed before it gets to the slide release. that make sence? and if it is the leaf/sear spring is it easy to fix?

Aye, that's the hammer catching the slide. If you can bring it to a local airsoft retailer, they'll fix it in no time. Leaf springs are tricky though, so although it's more than possible to do it yourself, your best bet is to bring it somewhere to get fixed

Well to be honest im quite good good with my hands but i dont wana go stripping the crap outa it since its brand new that and the closest airsoft place that i know of is in limerick and im in kerry. Its kind of odd but it is working perfectly now, no catching, no jamming dont know what it is.

Basically the leaf spring is what locks the hammer back. There's a part on the slide which pushes the hammer back, and the leaf spring locks it in place. The slide then passes back over the hammer and is ready for the next shot. That's what's supposed to happen, however the leaf spring can catch the hammer and leave it too high, preventing the slide from passing back over.

I get you, im fairly sure it aint that not that im doubting your expertise or anything, sometimes it jams before it even reaches the hammer, its almost like its stuck somewhere.

if it is the leaf spring does it need replacing??

I'm no expert, just an enthusiast.

If it's brand new, bring it back as it should be covered by warranty.

PS: If it's the leaf spring, then it should be able to just be bent back into the correct position

Nah aint nothing wrong with marui's just a fan of WE, its a pity they dont have more realistic trades on them though other than that i dont think WE's realism cant be beat as far as the weight, and the fact that they are full metal. Anywho cheers for the help earlier inari and thermo appreciate it.

Lads, its none of the above if this is the same problem I encountered with a WE Kimber 1911. Brand new out of the box the slide jamed 90% of the time mid cycle.

Its caused by the ejection port cover of the barrel getting wedged into the underside of the slide. Remove the slide, turn it upside down and you should be able to see scrapes and signs of wear in the roof of the slide. File this same area down ever so slightly and it should work great.

i had the same problem with my WE1911. have you also encountered the problem where the outer-barrell decides to launch itself at the target yet?

Steve from airsofteire's sanding is what fixed mine i think when it happend to me ages ago.
