    Looking to buy some Aviation tools (mainly AF), any good places in ireland that would stock snap-on in particular or any former mechanics/leckys that have tools to sell

    Try this crowd,not sure where they ship though,also try FACOM,i know they can be pricey

    Hi there,
    Do not be lured into thinking that you have to have Snap-On to fix aircraft. Any tools from a decent maker such as Britool/Craftsman/Draper will do. Snap-On is far too expensive for basic jobs.Most mechs will have a few of them, such as the very popular Snap-On ratchet screwdriver or the bent spanners for getting into tight corners or the long-reach sockets.Pretty much everybody will have a mix of several brands and many people will have a small, handy box for ready/field use and a bigger box for hangar/overhaul use.Specialists such as sheet metal workers or avionics guys will have dedicated tools, which the average mech may not have.You should have, like I said, a small field kit, as a basic essential.
