We are getting a feral cat neutered this week and she has 3 10 week old kittens which dont like to be seperated. Can Mum & Kittens be kept together in a room after Mum has been spayed?

Could you not postpone it until the kittens are totally independent of the mother? That way you wont have the added worry about them and her getting on?

Her milk will stop after her neutering, and at 10 weeks of age they'll be all right without further suckling. By 12 weeks in the wild the mothers have mostly pushed the kittens away (sometimes earlier) and are starting to call for a mate again. It's good to keep the kittens with each other as they will continue to teach each other manners.

She'll have a tender wound initially after she's spayed and she may not want kittens butting and pushing at her looking to suckle, so best to keep her separate from them initially.

No can do, she already has the male cat that got her pregnant the first time sniffing around her again, need to get her done this week

The plan was to get Mum & kittens tonight, lock them in the bathroom with blankets, litter tray and food. Then tomorrow evening, take Mum to the vets. When we get home with her, we will let the kittens out of the bathroom to roam around living room and leave Mum on her own in the bathroom for two days to recover.........How does that sound??

That sounds like your best option. You'll probably have to play it by ear.

Best of luck with it all!
