If you were to to take your car to the UK do you have to inform your insurance company? And if so does that mean that you have to pay extra. Anyone know?

Not necessarily. Most policy allow EU travel from 30 to 180 or so. Check your policy or phone your insurance company for the exact number.

I drove to england during my last policy & i rang them & informed them of the dates of travel. There'll be no extra charge as usually 30 or so days are on most policies, so i would say ring them just to be safe.

It's the same as driving in Northern Ireland, no need to inform them if only going for a couple of weeks.

You do need to bring your VLC, insurance cert and Full driving licence.
