    Hi

Just wondering if guys think it is necessary to spary off this time of year before reseeding. The ground in question is off good quality silage/late grazing gorund, but hasnt been reseeded for years.

I was always of the opinion that spray off was critical in the spring but not necessarly so in the Autumn.

Don't think it's essential- many times done it myself without spraying. Think it mainly depends on method being used. With no spray good quality ploughing defo needed but if not ploughing spraying needed.

The best reason to choose to spray is to ensure to kill any weeds or crowfot. I would always spray to ensure that the grass and clover seed that you are sowing does not have to compete with anything else when establishing itself.

Can anyone tell me how long you need to leave grassland after spraying it with roundup before it is safe to cut it for silage or allow cattle to graze it? I thought the roundup drum used to say 5 days, but I cannot find any information on a drum that I bought yesterday.

Yeah the label says 5 days, If your investing in a reseed imo it would be foolish not to burn off the old swarth,

I think all the Glyphos sprays (Roundup Gallop etc) have the same withdrawal period. Although Gallop in 10l drums was the same price as roundup when I went to buy it yesterday - maybe it was just in the hardwars that i was in.
