    Hello

I used to be a member of sportsco gym a couple of years ago. I know they have a brand new setup now.

In regard to the gym, do they have an olympic bench press yet ?? ( or is it still just the smith machine ? )

I was in the gym there for a tour a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure that it's just the smith machine (Possibly 2).

You could always give them a call and ask to speak to someone in the gym.

    Any other takers ?

I dont know what their issue is, that they cant just put in an olympic bench !!

Any other new equipment there in last year ?

They have dbs to 50kg which is a help.
There is also a bar which allows you to use the plates from the Smith machines so deadlifts etc are possible.
Loads of cardio machines of course.

Weights area can be quite full in the 5.30pm to 7.30pm slot not too bad at other times. They could do with another bench or two but there isn't really enough space for them.
There are no serious lifters there and they are not trying to encourage them to join ( or so it seems ) so it's equipped to suit the clientele they have.
Staff are good. Take a tour again and see for yourself.

Used to train in Sportsco before it was as nice as it is now. Best part of the place is the pool.

I never see them getting rid of the SM's tbh - it's not that kind of place I was told (ages ago) they did not want the serious trainer down there.

But that was probably 3 years ago ; )

They still have 50 kg dumbbells which is serious weight for a serious trainer

Most other gyms ive been have an Olympic bench. I like this gym and wud re join in a heartbeat if they installed an Olympic bench

It was a lot more than 3 years since I trained there, add 10 years if not more!:D

There was a time when I used to cycle 3 miles there to be in the pool at 6.45am for 100 lengths and did this 5 days a week!

If it's close by and reasonable value I think it's worth going in and asking if they'd get an olympic bench.
