    Heyyo, thinking of getting a Dell XPS. Will get the dearer one of the two that they have online as it's full HD.

    Was wonderin' about the ATI 565 graphics card though, will it be good enough for games on medium spec i.e Command and Conquer RTS types etc, a bit o' FPS and the like, and will it be able to play blu-ray movies on full HD easily enough? Can I travel to the moon on it?

    Will also leave the processor as is, i5 520m, or will it be worth changing it to the i5 540m?

    Thanks in advance :)I might buy you an Ice-cream.

    HD 5650 is a solid card. Lower end of tier one now but still more than power to play modern games at medium settings and older games at max.
    Also has significantly more overclocking potential than its nvidia counterpart GT 335 and slightly better performance.
    Starcraft 2 will run on High settings nicely.

    Please note ATI 565v is NOT the ATI HD5650.

    It's a rebranded HD4670. Still a good card, but last generation.

    You can get the XPS 16 with HD5730 in some regions, so that's what i'd be looking for. Can't see it on the Irish site though.

    @ Voodu Child
    Yea, just checked on Dell India and they have the 5730 available on their XPS 16 :confused:

    I think I'll hold out for a while until they have that in stock here, knowing my luck the day I order the XPS 16 with the 565v they'll have the 5730 the next day :rolleyes:

    @dazzday
    Cheers for the suggestion, might look into that actually. Although I'll give Dell another few weeks.

    Contacted Dell using their chat system to ask about the Ati HD 5730, they said it might be another few weeks. So might hold off till then.
