    Hey there,

Im doing up the kitchen and buying a new dishwasher but they all seem the same to me!!! From reading other posts it seems like Bosch are the leaders in this field? Its going to be integrated so the look doesnt matter but I dont mind spending €500 to get one thats good i.e cleans effectively, ecconomic, quiet and of course reliable! Am I on the money with Bosch??

look for short cycle: say 30 mins: and also not noisey

I have one, a Bosch, it was 700 euro 3 or 4 years ago but it is really quiet and quick: SGI45M55 model number I think: it means u can have it washing while entertaining, as we have the kitchen and dining as one big room so u can 3 or 4 goes done before bed time

    Thanks Carlow,

I looked for a short cycle... if I go from my house to the shops it will take 5mins if I pedal hard?

Sorry, couldnt resist. Good advice. I checked out that guy... its the terminator of dishwashers! Its online at st£699! Thats a bit out of my range. I was hoping to hit in around the €500 mark. It does say online that your guy is 49db so thats something I can compare to. Apart from the price you seem happy with the Bosch anyway. I was basing my evaluation of a better brand on the morons formula: expensive=better.

Neff have a dishwasher that retails at €547 with a bit of discount I'd say €520. It's AAA energy rated, 47 db and has a half cycle wash programme. You can now buy them in any electrical retail outlet and are an excellent brand on a par with Bosch. The code is S54E53XOGB

Expensive doesn't necessarily mean better OP,that's a very expensive way of thinking...

I have an Amica, it neearly new and is perfect. 2 Year warranty as standard. Its got an eco setting, delay feature etc etc - Can't be beaten on the value at just €250. Thought about a bosch and all the other overpriced makes that do the same thing, which is just wash the fecking dishes - and just went for the Amica.

MidlandsM are you sure that Amica is integrated and not free standing?

It's free standing, but I'd say you can order integrated models.

Aw right,I thought that seemed too cheap for an integrated model.

yeah there's a pretty penny in price difference between freestanding and integrated!
And there was me thinking integrated would be cheaper 'cos you wouldn't be paying for asthetics!

Recently bought Indesit DIF04 fully integrated dishwasher
12place settings, 4programmes, cleaning performance grade A and it has an A energy rating

Very quiet it just beeps when you turn it on and again when cycle is finished.
only have it couple months and wouldn't use it more than once a day but it's fine so far. Dishwasher that broke down had been in house since it was built in 1996!

It was €464 but we got it for €371 with 20% discount

I bought a Bosch 5 years ago. 3 years later a part went and needed replacing. €100+ euro.
It went again last week and the repair guy arrived today and said it will cost €200 to fix. :(

sorry to hear of that expense Beruthiel....bad luck.

I know bloke in uk who does this. He buys the cheapest dishwasher or washing machine with the longest warrantry there is online or in store.
Something like a beko or whatever for £200 or £220.......and then, 2 years later when the warranty's out, if it goes POP and is anything more than £40 or £50 to fix, he just BINS it and buys a new one all over again. If he gets over 3 or 4 year out of a machine, he's in the money he reckons. He never has any parts/labour worries.
If it POPS shortly after warranty, he cuts his losses as he believes in the long run it cheaper than the £500 Bosch or Meile or whatever - -plus with his spending cash, he's supporting the economy (vat and Taxes),jobs etc.

Beko one for around 349 is good value for a good machine.

I'd say most people get more than 3 or 4 years with a Beko, its cheap, but I'm a big fan of them.

He didn't charge for the call out, shockingly enough, as it is 89 euro. I guess he expects to be coming back and he'll charge it then.
Am seriously considering just buying a new dishwasher instead.

My amica was €240 or 50 odd, and has a 2 year warranty, parts and labour - working AOK!

I was at work, so Mini Me let him in. Apparently it's a motor.
