How to chose a 2nd monitor?

Want to get a monitor for my laptop; 23" or around that and so i can connect my ps3 to it sometimes too. I've seen some lcd tv's and monitors priced quite well, but what is the difference between the two, quality or the ports? Quality is important as i like to play some games and movies sometimes, but it would be handy to hook it up to tv cable too (last priority on the list)

Really don't know anything about the screens, can anyone recomend something considering the needs specified? I'm sure this question is bothering quite a few people these days

TVs will be more expensive than their monitor equivalents. The main differences AFAIK are that the TV will have integrated speakers in most cases and have an analogue tuner.

Tvs have maybe 3, 4 resolutions suitable for pc use,Monitors have maybe 2 connectors, vga, dvi ,some have hdmi,but they are more expensive.
THERES tvs in power city, have 1 vga in slot ,but there max resolution is 1024x768 .price 199euro approx
if buying tv make sure its 1080p,if you are gonna use a blueray drive.
I USE a pc monitor 22inch,for pc gaming and xbox 360 gaming and its fine.

i was checking some Dell monitors, they seem to be priced ok and free delivery (plus i might get a discount from work or college). the only thing there is about 3-5 22-23" inch monitors and prices are same, but i don't understand which one is better. they also have a 21" alienware monitor which is price slightly highes than regular Dell but i don't see anything in specs that would stand out? can anyone tell what to go for?

The dell monitors seem to have exactly the same resolution,response time,contrast, go for 22inch or 23 inch if you can afford it
it ,s possible to buy a monitor with vga,in , hdmi in, handy if you ever wanna connect a tv,or 360 console.
search google ie hdmi monitor lcd.

Have a Dell ST2210 (21.5"), 1920, 5ms Dynamic, VGA+DVI+HDMI, Black bevel+White rear. Lovely screen. Might suit your needs.
