My son has starting collecting aircraft regs and is logging them in CAM 2010 and a notebook, as I did many years ago.

Having googled for a while, I haven't found a more up to date way of logging regs, so, I thought I'd ask! Are there any downloadable or web enabled logs that can be used to store my son's sightings?

I'd imagine that it would not be hard to automatically pull details such as owner, c/ns, etc. based on a registration and date. Tnx.

Thanks guys, but that's not what I'm looking for - I'm trying to find a spotter's log, where sightings can be recorded...

For what its worth I use a simple Excel spreadsheet to record my sightings.

I use eight fields:- Date seen, Registration, Aircraft type, series, c/n, operator, location and Additional info (ie aircraft name or other remarks). Obviously, you can add as many fields as you wish - so you can basically create a log that suits you own needs.

It's very easy to use, search by filters and also to update it - and better still it doesn't cost anything if you've got Microsoft Office installed.

Aircraft info such as c/ns, model numbers, operators etc. are freely available on many different web reference sites such as ....

    Airframes.org

    rzjets.net

    airfleets.net

    :)

    www.jetphotos.net
Simply register as a user and you get a logbook to log your sightings.
Most of the time, all you'll need to put in is the reg, date and location, website will do the rest, occasionally you'll need to enter the data manually but that'll be added to the database for the next person who needs it.
